An attractive opportunist, around forty years old. Manolo immediately accepts the offer to work as Ava Gardner’s chauffeur. Although this will mean he has to pretend to be married to Ana Mari. He wants to be part of the rich and artistic elite who really know how to enjoy life. Full of himself, cocky, thuggish and hard faced, Manolo is a confirmed bachelor. He gets around but is not looking to settle down. Living with Ana Mari will herald a new way of relating to women for Manolo and he will discover emotions he never knew he had.
INMA CUESTA | ANA MARI
Ava Gardner’s maid and spy.
Thirty-something spinster, virgin, with a limp, Catholic and Franco supporter. Ana Mari is an instructor in Pilar Primo de Rivera’s Women’s Section. On Franco’s orders, Ana Mari goes to work at the Hollywood star Ava Gardner’s house, in order to spy on her and the people around her. However, the actress has asked for a married couple as her chauffeur and maid and therefore senior members of the Women’s Section have found a man, Manolo, so the two can pretend to be married to each other. Throughout the eight episodes Ana Mari will witness and take part in events she would never have even dreamed of. Although the way that her mistress lives is diametrically opposed to her own lifestyle, she never judges or criticizes her. She is clear and concise. Ana Mari speaks sparingly, but does not bite her tongue when necessary. She will end up being influenced by Ava and her way of understanding life. She will experience living with a man, and she will be compelled to make decisions that will shake her solid ideological foundations.
DEBI MAZAR | AVA GARDNER
Actress and Hollywood star.
Extremely beautiful, captivating, intelligent, sexy and free. Ava always does exactly as she pleases. She does not like to be tied down either romantically or professionally. She moved to Madrid to flee from her husband Frank Sinatra, from Metro Goldwyn Mayer and from the paparazzi that followed her everywhere she went and made her life impossible. Madrid becomes a place to get away from it all, where her only goal is to have as much fun as possible. She loves flamenco, bullfighting, bullfighters, dancing, drinking, eating and going to bed late, and not alone if possible. Ava lives her life like an unattached and carefree man. Her life is completely different to that of any Spanish woman of that period. Through the eyes of her servants and personal secretary we will see her in society and in her most intimate moments; full of anger and fragility, euphoric and lonely.

Schizophrenic, affectionate and without a penny to his name, which will prove very dangerous for him on a number of occasions.
