First Look: 'The Bridge' Season 4

Considered to be the series that started the Nordic Noir genre, The Bridge (Bron-Broen) follows Detective Saga Norén as she and her colleagues investigate a string of crimes committed around Oresund Bridge, the conduit between Sweden and Denmark. Two years on from the harrowing events of the third season, the fourth and final season finds Saga in dire straits…

When Margrethe Thormod, General Director of the Migration Agency in Copenhagen, is found brutally murdered on Pepparholm Island at the base of Øresund Bridge, Danish detective Henrik Sabroe (Thure Lindhardt, Angels & Demons) and his colleague Jonas Mandrup (Mikkael Birkkjar, The Killing, Borgen) begin their investigation. Henrik misses his friend, colleague and former Swedish detective Saga Norén (Sofia Helin, Atlantic Crossing, Beck), who has been incarcerated – convicted of killing her mother. Henrik visits Saga as frequently as possible and asks for her assistance with the new case. Unfortunately, Saga can’t help him while imprisoned. But when her conviction is overturned, with the murders continuing, Saga begins to piece together the crimes. Each victim is killed, execution style, using different methods of capital punishment, suggesting a total of seven deaths and more to come.

In this last season, Saga and Henrik both struggle on a personal level, trying to reconcile the events from their past while their friendship is put through a series of difficult tests…
