Colorful coming-of-age drama The Swan Company (RAI Com) follows seven young musicians at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. They have talent, but these teens are here to hone their craft and learn discipline and focus under the strict tutelage of renowned Maestro Marioni (Alessio Boni), a hard taskmaster to his new charges. The talented newcomers include sensitive violinist Matteo (Leonardo Mazzarotto), Barbara (Fotinì Peluso), an accomplished singer whose ambitions don’t always match the expectations from her family and Dominic (Emanuele Misuraca), who finds himself in a love triangle with his new friends. Music becomes a refuge for insecure cellist Sofia (Chiara Pia Aurora) and shy pianist Robbo (Ario Sgroi), who are foils to the rebellious Rosario (Francesco Tozzi) on the drums. Visually impaired violinist Sara (Hildegard De Stefano) rounds out the seven. On a side note, the impressive young cast was chosen out of 1,800 musicians vying for the roles of conservatory students!
