Police are stalling traffic, horns are blaring and a dead body lies next to a wrecked bicycle. It’s another day on the job for Montpellier police captain Annabelle Pennac (Julie-Anne Roth, The Art of Crime, Murder In…), who calmly strolls onto a deadly scene while helping her young daughter find a lost photo ID over the phone. Captain Pennac’s multitasking never seems to interfere with her wild imagination – which gives her an almost psychic ability to visualize and reconstruct crimes in her head.

In the eight episodes of Family Cases, Annabelle is juggling motherhood, dyslexia and a lifelong troubled relationship with her estranged father, retired police captain Hannibal Pennac (Christian Rauth, Under Law and Grace, Murder In…) – who just so happens to move in next door! With the help of his former colleague Maud (Isabel Otero, Perfect Murders, Murder In…), the old-school Hannibal is able to wedge his way (informally) back into the job to work alongside his daughter. In their first case together, they’re after a suspicious ex-con played by François Loriquet of A French Village fame…
