The French crime drama series Pacific Criminal returns with its third season, offering another immersive dive into crime investigations set against the vivid tropical backdrop of France’s overseas territories. Season 3 is again set on Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean (the first season’s New Caledonia location being a casualty of COVID) and follows the police team led by Commander Clarissa Hoarau as they investigate crimes with cases that challenge the squad both professionally and emotionally. If you’re a fan of police procedurals that combine strong characters with place-distinctive atmospheres, Pacific Criminal offers something a little bit different – and visually striking. Thematically, this season gives viewers a little more to chew on too – sports performance enhancements, institutional pressures and the human cost of crime‐fighting.
