Unless you’ve been vacationing on another planet, you’re most likely aware that HBO’s landmark series, Games of Thrones, recently premiered its eighth and final season. Believe it or don’t, even though Game of Thrones is on another network, we’re huge fans of the series! Game of Thrones is American TV we will never get tired of!

One of the things we love about Game of Thrones is their openness to casting actors from around the world. (You were wondering when I was going to pitch MHz Choice, weren’t you?) Below we’ve assembled a list of actors from Game of Thrones that also appear in series on MHz Choice!

To those of you who say this is a blatant attempt by us at MHz Choice to piggyback upon the appeal of the most popular series in the world, I say — guilty as charged.

Kristofer Hivju

Without a doubt, Kristofer Hivju is best-known to U.S. audiences as wildling leader Tormund Giantsbane from Game of Thrones. His definitive shock of red hair and intensity make him instantly unforgettable in that role. To get a true sense of his range as an actor, watch his performance in seminal Swedish mystery series Beck as police investigator Steinar Hovland. Steinar’s main interrogation technique? Give the bad guys homemade cookies to broker a trust … and then arrest them. It works surprisingly well. Well, most of the time.

Sibel Kekilli

German actress Sibel Kekilli played Shae in Game of Thrones, appearing as a guest star in the first season and joining the regular cast with Season 2. (Interestingly, Kekilli also provides Shaes voice in the German-dubbed version of Game of Thrones.) On MHz Choice, Kekilli plays investigator Sarah Brandt in Tatort: Borowski – also joining that series as a regular midway through its second season. Brandt, a computer specialist, has the ability to draw precise conclusions from contradictory information, a useful talent in dealing with Klaus, the awkward, socially challenged title character!

Amrita Acharia

Based in Norway, Nepalese actress Amrita Acharia played Irri, handmaiden to Daenerys Targaryen, in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones. In Season 2 of the hit Norwegian drama Acquitted on MHz Choice, Acharia takes on Aksel’s case as public prosecutor Amina Sahir, an ambitious up-and-comer who sees the Hansteen trial as a way to boost her career. In that series, Acharia shares the screen with two of Norway’s most popular actors not named “Hivju” – Trond Espen Seim (Varg Veum) and Nicolai Cleve Broch (The Half Brother)!

This series available to stream in the U.S. only.
