Ireland’s better-known exports include stout and summer workers for American resort communities. They have not included television shows. There are “The Fall” and the wonderful but little-watched “Moone Boy.” A few of us were fans of the dour cop in “Single-Handed.” That’s about it.
So the concurrent streaming availability of two new Irish series constitutes a virtual renaissance. “Striking Out,” on Acorn TV, and “Corp + Anam,” on MHz Choice, also have the virtue of offering a stark and educational contrast. [more…]
