Season 3 starts with a bang – a special crossover episode featuring the characters from the popular French TV series Astrid et Raphaëlle (broadcast on PBS as “Astrid: Murder in Paris”). In this unusual plot, police librarian Astrid Nielsen (Sara Mortensen, Off Track, Murder In…) and police commander Raphaëlle Coste (Lola Dewaere, veteran of multiple Murder In… episodes) discover a human eye preserved in a jar in Paris, while at the same time forensic pathologist Alexandra Ehle (Julie Depardieu, Captain Marleau) is examining a corpse in Bordeaux that has had both eyes removed! Realizing the two cases are connected, a judge orders the three women to team up to solve the mystery…

The central characters contrast in style: Astrid’s on-the-spectrum analytical mind and unique way of seeing clues, Raphaëlle’s grounded police instincts and Alexandra’s quirky brilliance bring different strengths to the case. Filmed in Bordeaux and the surrounding Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, “An Eye for an Eye” blends the worlds of both series, offering fans a rare team-up that expands the characters’ stories while showcasing two iconic French locations.

Subsequent episodes bring the regular supporting cast back into the mix – Sara Martins (Death in Paradise, Detectives, Murder In…) as Diane Dombres and Sophie Le Tellier (The Traveller, Marianne, One of a Kind!) as Ludivine Morel, among others – and their winning chemistry remains one of the series’ highlights. (And Episode 2 guest stars Dominique Pinon from Cassandre – he certainly gets around!)
