Agnes Le Roux came from a wealthy family that ran the successful luxury casino Palais de la Méditerranée. In 1977 her lover, Jean-Maurice Agnelet, is eventually arrested for murder and embezzlement. Not only was he Agnes’ lover, but also her divorce lawyer and advisor to her mother, Renée Le Roux, who oversaw the family business. Jean-Maurice Agnelet has always maintained his innocence while other members of the family (including his own son) are convinced of his guilt and even brought some new evidence to light.

The series covers all ground from the evidence at the time, to family drama, to business competition with the mob.
