Curfew is set in a fictional Britain where men have a strict curfew under the pretense of keeping women safe. All men have trackers under the “Women’s Safety Act” and need to be home between 7p – 7a. A murder happens during the curfew time in the middle of the night and the lead investigator, Pamela (Sarah Parish, Broadchurch, The Holiday), is convinced only a man could have committed the murder despite the iron-clad tracking system. Pamela can be described as a little salty while her new partner Eddie (Mitchell Robertson, Magpie Murders) is baby-faced and given special permission to be working after curfew hours. Pamela has reasons to be certain of her assumptions about the murderer being a man and holds no attachment to more convenient theories of the case.

The murder investigation also happens to begin 1 week before a vote to make the “Women’s Safety Act” permanent. Naturally, political pressure from all sides of the issue builds throughout the season.
