In the Finnish drama Seconds, a catastrophic train accident turns an idyllic small town into the center of a national tragedy. When a passenger train derails, an explosion and devastating fire destroy the station and surrounding rail yard, leaving more than 60 people dead.

Marita Kaila (Leena Pöysti, Deadwind, Roba) leads the investigation. Marita is an experienced accident investigator with an unusual ability to reconstruct events in her mind. She arrives at the scene soon after the disaster and takes charge of a team of experts. Among them is Daniel Lind (Mikko Kauppila, The Seige), a young investigator whose expertise and personal convictions bring another perspective to the demanding investigation.

As Marita and her team sift through evidence and interview survivors and witnesses, they face intense pressure to find answers. The case takes them beyond the physical wreckage as they encounter grief, conflicting accounts and people with reasons to keep the truth hidden.
