Three new episodes of popular French series The Traveller continue the evolution of the long-running crime drama, with Bruno DeBrandt (Spiral, The Art of Crime) firmly established as former police captain Yann Kandinsky, the wandering investigator who travels across France solving cold cases that conventional justice has abandoned. Created by Hervé Korian, the series began with Eric Cantona’s Thomas Bareski before passing the torch to Kandinsky, who now carries on the mission of seeking justice for forgotten victims. Emy remains as Kadinsky’s faithful companion – he’s a good boy!

In the first episode, “The Devil’s Garden”, Kandinsky is drawn into one of his most dangerous investigations when a local gendarme contacts him after an elderly woman unexpectedly comes forward with crucial information about an unsolved murder case. The witness’s subsequent suicide and a trail of clues left behind from beyond the grave lead Kandinsky toward a killer whose crimes have remained hidden for years. The episode also introduces a potential romantic connection for the usually solitary investigator.

 

In the second episode, “The Lost Path”, Kandinsky revisits a notorious family massacre in a Provençal village. A convicted serial killer claims that the man blamed for the murders was innocent and offers information in exchange for Kandinsky’s help, forcing the detective into a morally complex search for the truth.

 

The third episode, “The Memory of Water”, tackles a haunting cold case involving the discovery of six unidentified female bodies recovered from a northern French marsh. Five years after the investigation has stalled, a judge turns to Kandinsky for help. As he digs into decades-old disappearances, he uncovers secrets buried as deeply as the victims themselves…
