French offbeat short-form comedy series Changing Rooms (Vestiaires) is coming to MHz Choice! Watch the first episode right here!

Premieres on November 23, 2021 in the U.S. and Canada on MHz Choice!

The concept for Changing Rooms – disabled athletes shooting the breeze in the locker room – sounds like it could be really good, or really, really bad. The pitfalls are great on either side – it runs the risk of striking the wrong tone, or being disrespectful or condescending or unrealistic. Who wants to be party to that?

On the other hand, humans in all situations have a lot to say; humor is baked-in to our survival instinct. The athletes in Changing Rooms bring a perspective born out of physical and mental challenges, which makes their conversation particularly interesting. They are the ‘normal’ ones in this world. And they are also amusing, competitive, insecure, wise, stupid, stubborn, etc… no surprise there.

In other words, this series works. It strikes an authentic tone and it’s uninhibited and funny. The authenticity comes from its two creators, Adda Abdelli and Fabrice Chanut, both disabled themselves. They’ve known each other since 1998, both involved in film and theater. They wanted to work together on a common project, and in the locker room of their pool, the idea occurred to them. Adda Abdelli plays Romy, Fabrice Chanut stayed behind the camera and they both write the episodes.

But don’t take my word for it – see for yourself!
