The criminal connections between sunny Costa del Sol, Spain and chilly Oulu, Finland keep demanding the attention of Hilkka Mäntymäki (Riitta Havukainen, Freezing Embrace) and Andrés Villanueva (Fran Perea). This time Andrés has a noticeably shaggier look and isn’t even technically an investigator anymore. He’s living in Oulu and working as a taxi driver. Meanwhile, Hikka is noticeably lonelier and not loving the new guy on the force who clearly resents her presence. 

The murder of a Spanish Senator’s daughter in Oulu brings this season’s cross-border investigation into focus. Luisa Salinas wastes no time getting to Finland, her trademark tenacity fully intact as she plunges into the case alongside her Finnish counterparts. What initially appears to be a politically motivated crime soon unravels into a far more dangerous web of cover-ups, corruption, and escalating violence.
