The Scottish highlands and ghost stories… perfect fit! There’s some Macbeth action happening in Bannan Season 5, set in northern Scotland on the magnificent Isle of Skye. In short, Donneil (Alistair MacKay) is seeing ghosts, born out of his own emotional turmoil.
SPOILER ALERT!
As you may remember, Season 4 ends with Màiri (Debbie MacKay) being attacked in the woods by an angry Pàdraig (Eoghainn MacFhionghain), the lawyer who returned to Camus to undercut Donneil’s plans to control their father’s estate. As Season 5 begins, Pàdraig washes up on shore – so he went from attacking Màiri at the end of Season 4 to being dead. But how?
Aye, there’s the question.
Let’s put it this way – Donneil is a tormented man. Everywhere he turns, he sees Pàdraig… and it’s driving him crazy. “Present fears are less than horrible imaginings.” (Macbeth 1.3)
