The fifth season of Gåsmamman (Banijay Rights) sees the return of most of the surviving regular cast, led by the incomparable Alexandra Rapaport (The Sandhamn Murders) as Sonja, matriarch of Ek-Nordin clan. Huge Spoiler Alert for those who haven’t yet watched the end of Season 4… do not continue reading if you haven’t seen it yet!
**SPOILER ALERT – LOOK AWAY NOW!**
Three years have passed since Sonja… (LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE END OF SEASON 4) staged her own death and took over the Major’s identity. Her children have moved on with their lives, unaware of her continued existence – they think she’s dead. Sonja and Lukas run the Major’s business from Oslo but when a meeting goes wrong, they are forced to quickly flee the country. Sonja is desperate to end her time as the Major, so the pair travel to Stockholm to retrieve something that can absolve them from their life of crime for good… but nothing is ever that simple for Sonja or her family.
