A female-led drama about a divorced ER doctor who moves back to her home village and confronts the ghosts of her past, Fractures (Reinvent Studios) is the brainchild of the award-winning writing/directing team of Eva Sigurdardottir, Kolbrún Anna Björnsdóttir and Vala Thórsdóttir, centering around three generations of women and set against the starkly beautiful landscape of a small Icelandic village. When ER doctor Kristín (Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir) returns to her village to run a health clinic, she not only reopens old wounds for herself but also for her teenage daughter Lilja (Katla Njálsdóttir) and her mother Jóhanna (Helga E. Jónsdóttir). The story takes off from there as viewers get to know the rest of the clinic’s staff and the extended family of Kristín’s ex-boyfriend Ragnar (Joi Johannsson), a local police officer – but things really get tricky when Kristín’s ex-husband shows up…
