In which the ‘A Unit’ is assisted in their hunt for the ‘Kentucky Killer’ by FBI Agent Ray Larner, an old flame of Jenny Hultin’s. Ray is played by George Harris, who is from Grenada and definitely not Kentucky. He is probably best known for playing Simon Katanga, the captain of the smuggling ship that Indy and Marion hitch a ride on in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).

Robert Schnyder, whom we initially met in the very first episode as Julia’s American boyfriend, is now a CIA agent and looking to cut a deal with Falk Kupfer. Schnyder is played by Berlin native Steffen Groth, who also guest-starred in a couple episodes of Der Traumschiff, which is in fact the German version of The Love Boat. So now you know.

When Linda’s father-in-law disappears, Kurt is drawn into a case that has roots deep in the Cold War past. US military attache Steve Atkins (played by Len Cariou) assists Wallander with the investigation. Cariou is a native of Manitoba, which is in Canada and not in the US. He currently keeps busy playing Reagan family patriarch Henry in the CBS series Blue Bloods.

In which Mikael Persbrandt’s Agent Hamilton finds himself up against the ruthless American mercenary Rob Hart, played by Jason Flemyng. Flemyng was born and raised in the London suburb of Putney. He first rose to prominence with roles in the Guy Ritchie classics Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000).

A French Village: Marcel Larcher Street

In which Gustave is pressured into shooting an American GI named Tom, whom black marketeer Jerome accuses of being a rat. Tom is played by Maxime De Toledo, an actor who has appeared in The Sopranos and in the American soap operas Guiding Light and All My Children. He splits his time between Paris and New York, so he must be American, right? Probably from Ohio! Um, no. Actually he’s a native of Paris with a Franco-Spanish background and, in addition to French and English, he also speaks Italian, German and Chinese – this according to his website, maximedetoledo.com. So he’s kind of a whiz at languages. But, sadly, not American.
