Featured in The New York Times 2019 Fall TV Preview, The New Nurses follows the staff of a Danish hospital in the 1950s embarking on a radical experiment: training men as nurses.

Season 3 Synopsis:
Spring, 1953. The county needs a new central hospital, and Fredenslund is facing stiff competition from the more conservative St. Helene, which doesn’t accept male nurses. With the fate of the school hanging in the balance, it’s up to Matron and the students to win over the sceptical chairman of the county council. Meanwhile, the first-year students face a challenging internship on the surgical ward, where a new chief surgeon has just been hired. Here, they must learn to assist during an operation, while the ever more demanding shifts take their toll on the overworked students.
