Anna has just reappeared after being kidnapped five years ago. Commander Balthus (Jean-Michel Tinivelli, Alice Nevers) relentlessly tries to hunt down both Anna’s kidnapper and her best friend, who’s still missing.
Grief and uncertainty are pushing the girls’ families to their breaking point when Captain Alix Berg (Barbara Cabrita, Murder In…) is assigned to the case. She specializes in crimes involving families and children, but it doesn’t help that Anna is lying to the police.
Balthus and Alix trace cryptic clues along the mountainous French-Spanish border. Balthus pokes fun at his old friend Alix, making sure the local bartender – who just so happens to be played by Riviere-Perdue and Alice Nevers director Jean-Christophe Delpias – knows the chicory tea is for his partner-in-crime, not him. (Balthus prefers a strong espresso.)
The investigation requires local gendarme Captain Victor Ferrer (Nicolas Gob, The Art of Crime, A French Village) to assist in navigating the dense woods – his home turf – along with his dog Choupette. Then, a shocking death brings Alix and Victor even closer as they inch towards capturing the kidnapper who is hiding in plain sight…
Also starring Bruno DeBrandt (The Traveller, Spiral), Samir Boitard (Spiral), Patrick Deschamps (Tandem) and Cyril Gueï (Agatha Christie’s Criminal Games), Riviere-Perdue is an addictive, twisty mystery set in the remote and breathtaking Vallespir region of the Pyrenees on the French-Spanish border.
