Jean-Michel Tinivelli returns as Simon Coleman, the unconventional police captain at the heart of this popular French crime drama. After the accidental deaths of his sister and brother-in-law, Simon left Paris for Aix-en-Provence to raise their three children. Now a full-time father figure as well as a busy detective, he divides his time between the commissariat and the family home, juggling murder investigations with the everyday challenges of raising teenagers. Set against the sun-drenched landscapes of Aix-en-Provence and the surrounding region, Simon Coleman combines traditional police mysteries with warm family comedy.
Season 3 retains that winning formula while introducing a significant new complication: Simon’s estranged father, Jacques, arrives on the scene. His unexpected return forces Simon to confront a difficult family history, although viewers may recall that the feud between Simon and his sister Victoria has finally been resolved. Meanwhile, the Coleman children face plenty of their own ups and downs. Cyril is unexpectedly chosen to be the face of the French police for an advertising campaign, while Clara goes from making a best friend and finding a boyfriend to feeling left out just one episode later. In the season’s final episode, Violette faces a major decision about her future: whether to attend medical school far from home or study biology closer to her family. In the midst of all this drama, Simon tackles six new investigations – with cases taking him into some very different worlds including classical music, maritime life and professional golf.
