July on MHz Choice is a month that refuses to stay in one lane, dropping from the depths of the North Atlantic to the sun-drenched streets of Aix-en-Provence, with stops in the Alps, Stockholm, and northern Italy along the way.

The month’s biggest arrival is also its most anticipated. Das Boot Season 1 premieres July 7, and with the U.S. premiere of Season 2 coming in August. The series follows an inexperienced U-boat crew on a secret mission in 1942, while a young German woman finds herself torn between loyalty to her country and the French Resistance. Also arriving July 7 is Cassandre Season 7, the latest chapter of the French Alpine mystery following Chief Commissioner Florence Cassandre (Gwendoline Hamon) as she balances high-stakes investigations with the demands of family life against the backdrop of Annecy’s icy lakes and mountain vistas. Cassandre was voted the Best New Series of 2025 on MHz Choice, so Season 7 is not one to miss.

On July 14, Alexandra Rapaport returns in Gåsmamman Season 6, the hit Swedish crime drama in which she plays a suburban mom pulled into Stockholm’s criminal underworld, fighting to save her family.

Then on July 21, two very different procedurals arrive side by side: Italian fans will be thrilled to see Stucky Season 1, which introduces Inspector Stucky (Giuseppe Battiston), who operates in an inverted detective format similar to Columbo’s: the audience sees the crime and the perpetrator from the start, leaving Stucky to employ his sharp instincts and dry wit to work out the motive and make the arrest, all against the gorgeous medieval backdrop of Treviso, northern Italy. It’s a breezy, character-driven gem. Alongside it, Simon Coleman Season 2 continues the story of the titular Parisian undercover cop, whose life was upended when he became the unexpected guardian of his late sister’s three children, forcing him to juggle demanding police work with sudden single parenthood in Aix-en-Provence.

Closing out the month on July 28 is Unclaimed Season 4, the latest installment of the French procedural with a compelling premise: Darius (Guillaume Cramoisan) leads “Les Invisibles,” a police unit that specializes in solving John and Jane Doe cases: bodies found with no identity, no story, no past, with only seven days to identify the victim and complete their investigation.
