In the fun French mystery series Crime Is Her Game (Film & Picture), rural detective Gaby Molina (played by popular comedienne Claudia Tagbo) teamed up with straitlaced urban investigator Celine (Helene Seuzaret, Murder In…) to solve crimes in a series of seven entertaining and light-hearted episodes. But what happens when you have one final episode to make and your much in-demand lead actress – i.e. Claudia Tagbo – is unavailable for filming? That was the dilemma faced by the producers of Crime Is Her Game, and the solution they hit upon was both novel and unexpected: instead of trying to recast the role of Gaby, they instead decided to make the entire finale revolve around Gaby’s absence!
