The Big Fix is based on the true story of a sports betting scandal that rocked Sweden in the 1990s.
This series is told through the eyes of Bosse. He’s our guide, sometimes breaking the fourth wall explaining the complicated mechanics behind sports betting: In the early 90’s gambling in Sweden was controlled by the state-owned company Tipstjänst. All other ways of betting were illegal, but Tipstjänst had a selection of games to bet on. It turns out the system has flaws and Bosse and his friends find out how to exploit them.
But of course, as Bosse and his buddies get more confident, their big bets start to catch the attention of a Tipstjänst employee and a journalist. Soon, the two pursuers kick off a massive media hunt that captured the attention of a nation.
With a mix of comedy, real footage from 1990s Sweden, and a great cast of characters, The Big Fix is a fun romp through the early days of sports betting.
