Makari: Sicilian Mysteries returns for a third season of murder, banter, and gorgeous Mediterranean scenery – 100% made in Italy!

Claudio Gioè (Mafia Only Kills in Summer) is back as author Saverio Lamanna along with Domenico Centamore (Detective Montalbano) as Peppe Piccionello, sporting new meme-worthy T-shirts and spouting Sicilian wisdom, and Ester Pantano (Imma Tataranni) as Saverio’s girlfriend Suleima. Together, the trio tackles four new murder mysteries involving a fierce feud between two of Saverio’s ex-girlfriends, the tragic tale of the town of Gibellina and murders at a literature festival and a health spa. In all the excitement, Saverio and Suleima’s relationship pushed to the brink by the introduction of two new characters: Saverio’s new teacher friend Michela (Serena Iansiti, who stars as Dr. Martone in The Bastards of Pizzofalcone) and Suleima’s long-time friend Giulio (Eugenio Franceschini of Emily in Paris fame). Will their relationship survive these newcomers? Only Peppe can see the writing on the wall right from the start. But perhaps amore is in the air for him as well?
