A glorious mix of mystery, art history and will-they-or-won’t-they romance, Season 7 of The Art of Crime (Gaumont) takes us first to Versailles, as Captain Antoine Verlay (Nicolas Gob, A French Village, Murder In…) and art historian Florence Chassagne (Eléonore Bernheim, Maigret, Murder In…) are called in to investigate the strange case of the murder of a psychic medium. How does it all tie in with Marie Antoinette? Brought in to help with the case is Juliette Mariton (Dounia Coesens, Magellan, Murder In…) – who is none other than Antoine’s ex-fiancee! But against all odds, Juliette senses love in the air tonight and takes it upon herself to jump start the romance between Florence and her ex – a romance that both insist neither of them want! Then, the dynamic duo take their un-easy lover act back to Paris for one more night to investigate the death of a noted art restorer – along with a masterpiece that Florence identifies as a Botticelli! They have a long, long way to go as their investigation leads them to the amazing Museum Jacquemart-Andre and another collaboration with Florence’s father Pierre (Philippe Duclos, Spiral). Eager to get over Florence, Antoine asks for Pierre’s help with a dating app – and Florence also decides to use technology to find her own soulmate. But you can’t hurry love, can you?
