First Look: Time is a Killer

What’s better during the doldrums of January than a trip to magnificent Corsica? Check out Time is a Killer – adapted from Michel Bussi’s best-selling novel, it’s a gripping psychological thriller that jumps between two eras and follows three generations of women.

The sole survivor of a tragic accident that cost the lives of her brother and parents in Corsica when she was 16, Clotilde (Mathilde Seigner) returns 25 years later with her husband Franck (Thierry Godard, Spiral, A French Village) and daughter Valentine, now aged 16.

Soon after arriving, Clotilde receives a letter from her mother, Palma… written recently. That’s a showstopper: Palma was presumed dead in the accident. Could she really be alive? Clothilde goes immediately to her paternal grandfather, Cassanu (Serge Riaboukine) to see what he says.

Danger lurks throughout the course of Clotilde’s investigation as she delves deeper into the lives of her grandparents, neighbors, old friends and lovers, determined to find the true source of what happened to her. Only then can she can piece back together her fragmented life.

MHz Choice viewers will also recognize a familiar face – Gregory Fitoussi (Spiral, Speakerine) plays Clothilde’s father, Paul Idrissi – a man caught between his wife and his father and his former lover, unable to escape the result of disastrous decisions in his past. He’s a man caught in a vice – and as the adult Clothilde unravels her parents’ story, she sees the summer of 1994 with new eyes and learns what she needs to stop her own marriage’s freefall.
