Ramona (Videoplugger) is a period drama from Chile that tells the story of two sisters, Ramona and Helga, who move from the countryside to Santiago in pursuit of a better life in the late 1960s. There, they meet Carmen, a prostitute who teaches them how to survive in this new world. Slowly, the three women become involved in a grassroots political movement to improve their living conditions and take on whatever jobs they can find in order to survive: selling bootleg wine, working as cleaners and nightclub dancers. Over the course of twelve episodes, they fall in love and begin intense relationships that become a source of both joy and pain.
