A new chapter begins for Rostock’s determined detective Katrin König in Böwe and König, the follow-up to Bukow and König, the popular German crime series starring Anneke Kim Sarnau and Charly Hübner. A sharp, psychologically astute investigator with a troubled past, König initially crossed paths with Alexander “Sascha” Bukow while investigating his conduct. Their uneasy professional partnership gradually developed into a deep personal bond, as König’s analytical approach clashed with Bukow’s streetwise instincts and willingness to bend the rules.

In the opening episode “None of Us”, Bukow and König face a dangerous reckoning when Bukow’s old adversary resurfaces with evidence that threatens both their careers and their relationship. As the pair investigate a murder in Rostock’s music scene, they must confront the consequences of past decisions. The episode marks Charly Hübner’s final appearance as Bukow, bringing an end to an era for the crime-fighting duo.

The new series continues with the second episode, the aptly-titled “You Can’t Choose Your Family”, which re-introduces König and the viewers to Lina Beckmann (Charly Hübner’s real-life wife) as Melly Böwe, Bukow’s half-sister. The character, first seen in the final episode of Bukow and König Season 3, arrives in Rostock from Bochum as König investigates the deaths of a single mother and her severely disabled son. When a missing foster child becomes central to the case, the investigation grows increasingly complicated and Melly’s personal connection to the boy brings her into direct conflict with König’s efforts to uncover the truth.

With Bukow gone, König must adjust to a new colleague whose methods and priorities differ from her own. Subsequent episodes continue to explore the darker corners of human behavior, family secrets and moral ambiguity. The performances of Sarnau and Beckmann anchor this compelling new chapter as König confronts fresh challenges while forging an unpredictable partnership with Böwe.

Böwe and König streams November 17th, 2026 on MHz Choice.
