Detective Montalbano

Nuddu è di nuddu (e nuddu m’avi) – Olivia Sellerio

Montalbano fans will immediately recognize vocalist Olivia Sellerio’s voice as the show’s producers use her talents throughout the series. Nuddu è di nuddu (e nuddu m’avi) comes from the end credits of Detective Montalbano: Merry Go Round (Ep 31). Fun fact: Olivia is the daughter of the husband and wife team who published all of Andrea Camilleri’s Detective Montalbano novels and short stories. AND she also sings the opening title theme to Montalbano prequel The Young Montalbano. Read more about Oliva Sellerio here.

Maigret

Générique (Maigret Et Les Plaisirs De La Nuit) – L’Orchestre Symphonique Français

Is it weird that the opening phrase of brass and strings immediately conjures up Parisian street lamp lights obscured with wafts of pipe smoke? Maybe it’s just me.

NOTE: The entire Maigret collection has been remastered and can be seen in its original HD glory on MHz Choice digital streaming here and on a newly restored SD DVD set here.

Un village français (Générique) – Eric Neveux

Sweeping, epic, tragic.
