Based on a beloved novel by Robert Perišić, The Last Socialist Artefact follows two entrepreneurs who encounter conflict and obstacles as they attempt to revitalize a once-flourishing rust belt town. Nustin used to have a thriving economy with a promising future, but has barely anything to offer when Nikoka (Krešimir Mikić) and Oleg (Rene Bitorajac) arrive from Zagreb. The task of revitalizing the local turbine factory is more complicated than anyone could have ever imagined as their mystery investor gives Oleg the runaround. The locals are understandably skeptical of this new arrangement but with nothing more to lose, they only have hope left. Personal demons haunt the plot as the characters struggle to survive their crumbling environment. Can the factory be returned to its glory years? Or will everyone learn that if something is too good to be true, then it probably is?
