Twelve skeletons – all men – are unearthed beneath the snowy Black Forest near the French-German border, launching a multinational hunt for a vigilante serial killer in the French limited series Forest of the Missing streaming November 4^th, 2025 on MHz Choice.

German Commander Erik Maes (Grégory Fitoussi, Spiral, Camilla Läckberg’s Erica) has just been assigned to investigate the most gruesome murder case of the decade after hikers stumble upon skeletal remains near a shared military base.

As forensic investigators dig up more victims, the horrific case catches the eye of French judge Camille Hartmann (Hélène de Fougerolles, Murder In…), who has lingering amnesia a year after a car accident. Camille is eager to get back to work and enmeshes herself in the investigation, despite health concerns expressed by her husband Marc (Thierry Godard, Spiral, A French Village, Murder In…).

French and German authorities unite to capture a serial killer on a mission to avenge violence against women. Captain Franz Agerland (Tchéky Karyo, I3P) is a seasoned but somewhat bitter German cop frustrated that he has to report to the younger and more pragmatic Erik Maes. Franz sees this case as the opportunity for a big promotion, but Erik doesn’t care about rank – he just wants to solve the crime. Or maybe he’s so relaxed because he’s cozy with the boss, Birgit Scholtz (Astrid Whettnall, Haven of Grace, Murder In…).

In four episodes, Camille’s memories slowly come back to her, but not without secrets between friends and lovers, women uniting against femicide and a mysterious mass grave with decades-old skeletons and almost no clues as to who they were.
