In PETRA Season 2, Inspector Petra Delicato (Paola Cortellesi, There’s Still Tomorrow) and her deputy Antonio Monte (Andrea Pennacchi, 1994: Berlusconi Rising) grapple with four new cases: murder in an exclusive residential enclave, a series of deaths among the homeless, a double murder linked to the past and the theft of a firearm which exposes a disturbing criminal ring.

Based on the “Petra Delicado” novels by Spanish writer Alicia Giménez-Bartlett, the series has been relocated from Barcelona to the scenic Mediterranean seaport of Genoa in northwestern Italy. Among the stunning locations featured in both seasons are the Piazza De Ferrari, the Carlo Felice Opera House, the Galliera Hospital, The Church of the Immaculate Conception, the Imperial Palace Hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure – and that’s just the start.

Thanks to Petra, viewers will see something of the coastal road that links Voltri to Arenzano, known as the passeggiata di Arenzano. Panning shots introduce the thousand faces of Genoa: from the harbor to the carrugi, the narrow alleys of the historical center which give the city a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Petra and her deputy Antonio Monte walk around the old harbor several times where the bigo, a monument of a large loading crane similar to those used in shipping and designed by Renzo Piano is clearly seen.
