***Spoilers for Seasons 1-7 follow*****

Gåsmamman reaches an explosive climax with its final season, bringing Alexandra Rapaport’s Sonja Ek and the Ek family saga to a dramatic close. The series, which premiered in 2015, has followed Sonja’s transformation from suburban mother into a hardened figure in Stockholm’s criminal underworld, as her determination to protect her family repeatedly draws her deeper into danger.

Season 8 picks up where the first part of the two-part epilogue left off: Nina’s consuming desire for revenge against her mother has plunged the entire Ek family into a dangerous spiral of debt. With blood money the only apparent way out, Sonja, Nina, Linus and Gustav are forced into uneasy alliances with dark and unpredictable forces. As loyalties shift and long-held grudges resurface, the family must decide whether saving themselves also means saving what remains of their fractured family.

Rapaport, who has played Sonja throughout the series and also served as an executive producer, returns for the final five episodes. The concluding chapter promises a fast-paced, action-heavy journey toward an emotional farewell, with the Ek family facing its ultimate test. After a decade of crime, betrayal, revenge and survival, Gåsmamman finally gets the ending its long-running story demands.
