In Season 3 of the Norwegian drama Liv, the Nygaard family face new challenges as their complicated lives continue to unfold between Oslo and Tromsø. Ingrid Nygaard, played by Charlotte Grundt, is a brilliant heart surgeon who has left her hospital career behind to take on a new role in the family business. Now back in Oslo, Ingrid is under increasing pressure as she struggles to keep her worsening health from those around her.

Her brother Tobias, played by Jesper Malm, is facing a crisis of his own. His financial situation is deteriorating rapidly, leaving him increasingly desperate to find a way out. Back in Tromsø, Aurora Enoksen, played by Hanne Mathisen Haga, is trying to put her romantic life back together. With Henrik away, she is ready to give up on love but her friend Nelly encourages her to try again. A blind date brings an unexpected new complication.

Season 3 continues Liv’s intimate exploration of family, relationships, ambition and the secrets people keep from those closest to them. Moving between the northern city of Tromsø and the capital Oslo, the series follows its characters as they confront difficult choices and uncertain futures.

Season 1 established the siblings’ very different approaches to work and family. Ingrid had stepped away from her demanding career as a surgeon in search of a quieter life, while Tobias and Henrik remained more closely tied to the family’s business and its considerable wealth.

Season 2 raises the stakes when the siblings’ authoritarian father becomes seriously ill and his condition forces them back into each other’s orbit. At the same time, questions surrounding the future of the family pharmaceutical company and its inheritance create growing tension between Tobias and Henrik.
